March at Charlotte’s Bistro

February 28, 2017 | Charlotte's Bistro Charlotte's Group

We’re thrilled that our new head chef Michal is proving such a big hit with you all. We were confident he would fit the Bistro perfectly, but it’s always nice to get great comments, web reviews and return visits within the month!

With all the skills he’s picked up from Chez Bruce, The Artichoke, Marcus Wareing and Wild Honey, his repertoire and new dishes keep going above and beyond our expectations.

While full-on Spring isn’t here just yet, Michal’s using a host of other amazing seasonal ingredients which’ll blow your mind – and tastebuds.

Food you could not, should not miss this March…

With eight new dishes on the menu this month, there’s something for everyone! Our new starter of pork and chicken terrine is a sure-fire winner. Finely balanced with herbs and a touch of garlic melding together to create an elegantly flavoured, classically-French influenced starter. Chef says it’s a real stunner that’s going to fly off the pass – and staff tasting today agreed!

Our new vegetarian dish showcases one of Michal’s favourite ingredients, wild garlic.  His wild garlic risotto with morels really allows the unique, subtler wild garlic flavour to shine, as well as being a beautiful fresh green spring colour. It’s so good, it’ll tempt even the most entrenched carnivore.

Booze News…

Our alchemist bartender Tom has been doing weird and wonderful things with radishes of all veggies – well, they are in season! He loves the savoury kick with a hint of pepper and has created two new radish-infused cocktails, as well as homemade radish crisp garnishes…

Totally Rad – is a buck inspired West Cork Irish whiskey based drink with honey, bitters & fresh radish topped with dry cider – not too sweet, not too sour and not too boozy but with a hidden kick!

Get Cape.  Drink Cape.  Fly. – is a cobbler style drink with Caperitif (a slightly bitter South African vermouth), Kingston Black apple liqueur, fresh orange, radish and cranberry – slightly sweet, very light and served with ice.

Look forward to seeing you soon and hearing what you particularly enjoy this month!
